Judgment on Israel's Neighbors

And he said: 1"The LORD roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem; 2the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the 3top of 4Carmel withers."
Thus says the LORD: 5"For three transgressions of 6Damascus, and for four, 7I will not revoke the punishment,a because they have threshed 8Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.
9So I will send a fire upon the house of 10Hazael, and it shall devour the strongholds of 11Ben-hadad.
I will 12break the gate-bar of 13Damascus, and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of 14Aven,b and him who holds the scepter from 15Beth-eden; and the people of 16Syria shall go into exile to 17Kir," says the LORD.
Thus says the LORD: 18"For three transgressions of 19Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because 20they carried into exile a whole people to deliver them up to Edom.
So I will send a fire upon the wall of 21Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds.
I will cut off the inhabitants from 22Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish," says the Lord GOD.
Thus says the LORD: 23"For three transgressions of 24Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they delivered up a whole people to Edom, and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
So I will send a fire upon the wall of 25Tyre, and it shall devour her strongholds."
Thus says the LORD: 26"For three transgressions of 27Edom, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, 28because he pursued his brother with the sword 29and cast off all pity, 30and his anger tore perpetually, 31and he kept his wrath forever.
So I will send a fire upon 32Teman, and it shall devour the strongholds of 33Bozrah."
Thus says the LORD: 34"For three transgressions of the 35Ammonites, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because 36they have ripped open pregnant women in 37Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.
So I will kindle a fire in the wall of 38Rabbah, 39and it shall devour her strongholds, with shouting on the day of battle, 40with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;
and 41their king shall go into exile, he and his princesc together," says the LORD.
